BG Construction & Engineering provides construction services for educational and municipal projects throughout Southwest Michigan. Our experience includes park improvements, athletic facilities, site development, concrete work, buildings, parking areas, and other public improvements.
Below are some of the projects our team has worked on, highlighting the range of construction services we provide for schools, municipalities, and community facilities.
Our Current Projects
Veteran's Memorial Park- New Buffalo, MI
Our team is nearing completion of the Veterans Memorial Park project in New Buffalo, where we have overseen the project from start to finish while completing a significant portion of the construction work. Our responsibilities have included site preparation, grading, stormwater improvements, and coordination of the various trades and project components. The overall project features a monument wall, concrete seatwalls, site lighting, landscaping, and other improvements that come together to create a lasting space honoring veterans. We’re proud to have played a key role in bringing this meaningful project to the final stages and helping create a new gathering space for the New Buffalo community.
Ely Park- Hartford, MI
We’re putting the finishing touches on the improvements at Ely Park. This project has brought improvements throughout the park, including new pedestrian walkways, parking lot, upgraded facilities, electric upgrades, and amenities. This project was completed separately, but simultaneously with the new playground at Ely Park.
We’re excited to see both of these projects reach the finish line and know these improvements will be enjoyed by the communities for years to come.
Riverfront RV Park- Niles, MI
Our team is completing improvements at Riverfront RV Park in Niles to provide a new sanitary sewer system for the campground. The project includes installation of a duplex grinder pump station and approximately 960 feet of HDPE force main, with the force main being installed using directional drilling. The work also includes the electrical components needed for the grinder station and flow meter, along with the associated connections and appurtenances. This project will provide the RV park with new sanitary sewer infrastructure to support its campground operations.
Red Woolfe Park Improvements- Decatur, MI
Our team is completing improvements at Red Woolfe Park in Decatur, transforming the lakeside park into a more accessible and welcoming space for the community. The project includes site preparation and grading, improvements to the entrance and parking area, new sidewalks and accessible pathways, an expanded beach area, and a new ADA-accessible kayak launch and gangway. Additional improvements include accessible seating and picnic areas, benches, landscaping, and other site amenities throughout the park. The project is helping create improved access to the waterfront while providing a more functional and enjoyable park for residents and visitors.
Completed Projects
Hall Park - Benton Harbor, MI
We’re proud to have completed the Hall Park Improvements project, including two new full-size basketball courts with lighting, new retaining seat walls, an ADA-accessible concrete path with lighting, and improvements to the surrounding park amenities. It was great to see this project come together and help create a more accessible and enjoyable space for the Benton Harbor community.
Silver Beach Playground Improvements- St. Joseph, MI
The Silver Beach Playground Improvements project was successfully completed, bringing a brand-new, inclusive playground to one of Southwest Michigan’s most iconic public spaces. BG Construction and Engineering served as the lead contractor, working in partnership with Sinclair Recreation to complete the project.
Our team handled site preparation, grading, drainage installation, and all concrete flatwork for sidewalks, play areas, and seating zones. Sinclair Recreation led the installation of new, inclusive playground equipment designed for children of all ages.
We were proud to be part of a project that created a safe, welcoming space for families and visitors to enjoy for years to come.

We are proud to share that Phase 1 of the Berrien Springs Ball Fields project was successfully completed. The project included the development of three new ball fields and six dugouts, along with improvements to the surrounding facility.
BG Construction and Engineering completed the sitework and concrete, constructed the maintenance building and dugouts, and added a new gravel parking lot. These improvements helped create a more functional and welcoming facility for players, families, and the community to enjoy.
We were proud to be part of this project and help bring Phase 1 of the Berrien Springs Ball Fields to completion.

Tennis Courts
What a difference a year can make! These are before and after pictures of the Bridgman Public Schools Tennis Court Replacement that our previous company, Green Construction and Engineering completed. We enjoyed working with Bridgman Public Schools and Wightman to complete this impactful project!
Rangeline Park Trailhead
Happy 4th of July! We have had a busy first half of the year and look forward to finishing strong! Below are some progress photos of the Rangeline Park Trailhead Project in Berrien Township.

Freezer and Shot Put Pit
This past year, our previous company, Green Construction and Engineering, had the opportunity to complete two projects for Brandywine Community Schools! We installed a walk in freezer and updated the shot put pit. These were our first projects with Brandywine Schools and we hope to continue to work together in the future! Before and after pictures of both projects are below.
Courtyard
Bridgman Public Schools hired us for some concrete improvements this year. One part of this project included pouring in the Courtyard at the middle school. This required a large amount of labor to wheelbarrow out unsuitable subgrade material, then a concrete pump truck was used to pour the Courtyard. The school is planning to add tables to finish off the Courtyard. It was a great project, and we appreciate the opportunity!
